Three new factories will be created in three different regions of Georgia within the state program ‘Produce in Georgia’.

Today the Government approved the three projects and said it would invest about 4 million GEL (about $1.80 million/€ 1.57 million*) to see these projects come to life.

One of the projects will see a high-tech, modern livestock farming enterprise created in Martkopi Village in Georgia’s Kvemo Kartli region. Local company Martkopis Baga will be responsible for carrying out the project and invest about 2.5 million GEL (about $1.13 million/€ 992,893*) to do so.

Meanwhile more than 1 million GEL (about $452,488/€ 397,157*) will be invested in building a construction materials manufacturing plant in Khelvachauri, in Georgia’s Adjara region.

The third factory will be built in Georgia’s Guria region in the Ozurgeti municipality. There local company Askangel Alliance will invest about 200,000 GEL (about $90,497/€ 78,740*) to build a factory that produces mineral products.

In total 164 plants have been created within the ‘Produce in Georgia’ scheme. Collectively these factories were worth more than 400 million GEL (about $180 million/€ 157 million*), and employed 7,500 people.
