Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili will deliver a speech at the 55th session of the high-level segment of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva on Monday.
The Minister will highlight the 2022-2030 National Strategy for the Protection of Human Rights and efforts by the Georgian Government for protecting the rights of various groups of the population, the foreign office said.
Darchiashvili will draw particular attention to the human rights and humanitarian situation in Georgia's Russian-occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) regions.
The Minister also will hold meetings with the UN Human Rights Council President, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
