The conversation also touched on the difficult situation in Georgia's Russian-occupied territories and the Georgian side’s peace policy, which serves the purpose of restoring trust, reconciliation and peaceful de-occupation.

Kauma congratulated Georgian authorities on the country’s progress on the path to European integration. Darchiashvili noted the European Commission’s recommendation to the European Council to grant Georgia the European Union membership candidate status was “a historic decision, which the Georgian people had been waiting for a long time”.
