Turkish President congratulates Georgian PM, ruling party on election victory

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Tuesday congratulated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and the ruling Georgian Dream party on winning the parliamentary elections on Saturday.

Erdoğannoted the elections reflected the “will of the Georgian people within a peaceful and secure environment”.

I sincerely congratulate you on the victory and first place of the Georgian Dream party under your leadership. I hope the election results will usher in success for the people of Georgia and our region”, he said.

Erdogan also extended personal well-wishes to Kobakhidze and “to the friendly people of Georgia”.
