Armenian PM congratulates Georgian counterpart, ruling party on election victory

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Sunday extended congratulations to his Georgian counterpart Irakli Kobakhidze, and the ruling Georgian Dream party for their victory in Saturday’s general elections.

In a social media post shared in Georgian, Pashinyan voiced confidence that “strategic relations” between the “brotherly nations” would “continue to develop sustainably for the benefit of both countries”. 

According to the latest data from Georgia’s election administration, the GD party has secured 54 percent of the vote, with over 99 percent of ballots counted.
