Azerbaijani PM congratulates Georgian PM on election victory

Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov on Monday congratulated Irakli Kobakhidze, his Georgian counterpart, on winning the parliamentary elections on Saturday.

I heartily congratulate you on the victory of Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia in the parliamentary elections held in your country. This victory once again confirmed the support of the friendly Georgian people for the political course implemented by the country's leading political force”, Asadov said.

I believe the election results will promote the progress and further development of the country and at the same it will strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Georgia, grounded in a long-standing tradition of friendship and good neighbourly relations”, he added.

Concluding his remarks, Asadov also extended his hopes for a lasting “peace and prosperity for the Georgian people”.
