Georgian customs officers seized ₾43,102 ($15,847) in undeclared gold coins at the Kutaisi International Airport in the country’s west, the Revenue Service said on Monday.
The Service said the items - weighing in at 187.24 grams - were seized during a physical and luggage search of a foreign citizen at the checkpoint.
The body also said the case had been handed over to the Investigation Service of the country’s Finance Ministry for further action.
