Georgian customs officers seized ₾42,098 ($15,858) in undeclared gold on the Sadakhlo Border Crossing Point on the country's southern border with Armenia, the Revenue Service announced on Monday.
The Service said the items - weighing in at 417,17 grams - were seized during “detailed inspection” of a vehicle driven by a foreign citizen, with the objects found in a concealed compartment.
The body also said the case had been handed over to the Investigation Service of the country’s Finance Ministry for further action.
