Georgian authorities identified 220 cases of illegal storage and transportation of excise-free tobacco products across the country between April and June, the Revenue Service said on Friday.

A total of 19,366 cigarette packages were seized throughout the country by professionals of the Tax Monitoring Department of the Service.

The state body also noted administrative offence protocols had been sent to court, while the other cases were sent to the Investigation Service of the Georgian Finance Ministry.
