Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Wednesday visited the St. George Nunnery in the village of Dzlevijvari in the eastern Shida Kartli region, the Government Administration said.
The head of the Government and the Parliament Speaker, along with cabinet members and representatives of local authorities, were hosted by Metropolitan Iobi and the abbess of the nunnery, Valeria Skhiladze.
Local clerics discussed the ongoing construction of the church with the top officials.
The nunnery was built between 2018 and 2019, the Government’s press office added.
