Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and the representatives of executive and legislative authorities joined the liturgy service held last night at the Sioni Cathedral in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi to celebrate Easter, the resurrection of the martyred Christ.
The liturgy was led by the Catholicos Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II and the Senaki and Chkhorotsku Metropolitan Shio Mujiri, who is the Patriarch’s 'locum tenens'.
Orthodox believers, gathered at the Cathedral, listened to the Easter Epistle of the Patriarch, and later, they were also able to receive the Holy Fire brought from Jerusalem to Georgia by a charter flight last night.
