Georgian officials congratulate American Gov’t, citizens on Independence Day

Georgian officials on Thursday extended their congratulations to the United States Government and American citizens on the country's Independence Day, highlighting the “strategic partnership and friendship” between the two nations.

In his social media message over the date, Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili wished “prosperity and continued success” to the US.

“Happy Independence Day to our strategic partner - the United States! We wish you prosperity and continued success in the coming years. As we celebrate this historic day, we look forward to strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between our nations”, the top Georgian diplomat said.

 

President Salome Zourabichvili stressed her country valued America’s “longstanding friendship and support” on its “path to democracy, freedom and peace, founded on justice and respect for human values”.

“On Independence Day, we wish the American nation to remain an inspiration for freedom-loving nations worldwide”, she said.

 

Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili wished Americans a “joyful and proud” Fourth of July.

“Happy IndependenceDay to our friends and partners in the United States! May the bond between our nations continue to grow stronger!”, he said.

 

Robin Dunnigan, the United States’ Ambassador to Georgia, emphasised “shared values” and “strategic partnership” between the countries in her comments on US Independence Day on Wednesday, adding her Government wanted “nothing more than peace, prosperity, and independence for Georgia”.
