The Georgian Post has issued a new stamp featuring the national football team ahead of the kick-off of the European Football Championship this week.
The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development on Wednesday said the stamp would be produced with a circulation of 40,000 and be available in 80 post offices throughout the country starting June 12.
Senders can already use the new stamp for postal services, with the design illustrating the “historic victory” of the team against Greece in March that secured its first-ever spot at a European Championship.
Designed by architect and collector Baadur Qoblianidze, the stamp also “depicts the emotions connected with the victory scenes” following the match, the Ministry said, adding the World Postal Union would send the stamp to its 191 member countries “foster[ing] promotion of Georgian football even more”.
