The airline tickets, subsidised by the Georgian Government to enable fans of the national football team to travel to the European Football Championship in Germany, will be on sale from May 24.

The purchase of subsidised tickets will be available only for Georgian citizens, who will be obliged to present the purchased tickets for the Championship match at the airport, the United Airports of Georgia said.

Georgian football fans will travel from Tbilisi and Kutaisi international airports to four German cities - Dortmund, Hamburg, Cologne and Dusseldorf, with a price of €195 for a one-way ticket.

Eurowings, Wizz Air, Hi Sky and Georgian Wings will operate subsidised charter flights for Georgian fans to attend Euro 2024 and the flights will be adjusted to the schedule of matches of the national team, the UAG said, adding the fans would have the opportunity to organise their travel schedule and attend one, two or all three matches accordingly.

The tickets will be on sale from 1 PM on Friday at the online portal TKT.ge.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday announced his Government’s decision to subsidise airline tickets for Georgian football fans.

Georgia’s national football team claimed their first-ever spot at the European Championship after defeating Greece in the playoff final for the tournament on March 26.

The team will play their first match at the competition against Turkey on June 18 in Dortmund, with other group stage games set against the Czech Republic on June 22 in Hamburg and Portugal on June 26 in Gelsenkirchen.
