A delegation of employees of Georgia’s Interior Ministry will help ensure security during the upcoming UEFA European Football Championship in Germany this month, the Ministry said on Saturday.

The Georgian professionals were invited to Germany at the initiative of Germany's Federal Ministry of the Interior and Public Affairs and the Federal Police, the body noted.

It also said employees of its Patrol Police Department would undergo joint training with other countries’ law enforcement officers at German’s Federal Police training centre in Bamberg from June 10 to 13.

The officers will then be deployed at airports and railway stations and assist German law enforcement in “effective communication and maintenance the law and order”.
