Georgian PM pays tribute to former Turkish President in official visit

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday paid tribute to the memory of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and former President of Turkey, during his official visit to the country.

Kobakhidze visited the Anıtkabir, a mausoleum complex in Ankara, with a delegation and laid a wreath at the resting place of Atatürk, while also leaving a note at the guestbook, the Georgian Government Administration said.

The PM was welcomed in the country by Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the country, and other officials at Ankara Esenboga Airport earlier on Thursday.

The official is scheduled to hold face-to-face and extended meetings with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan before the two leaders make comments for the press.

The Georgian delegation also involves Levan Davitashvili, the first Vice Prime Minister and Economy Minister, Irakli Chikovani, the Vice Prime Minister and Defence Minister, Ilia Darchiashvili, the Foreign Minister and Giorgi Amilakhvari, the Minister of Education and Science.

Mikheil Sarjveladze, the Health Minister, Tornike Rijvadze, the Chairman of the Government of the western region of Adjara and Levan Zhorzholiani, the Head of the Government Administration are also in the delegation.
