Peter Krogoll, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation Race Director, on Sunday said he was “looking forward to returning to Georgia” and highlighted “great support” from the Georgian Ski Federation and Mountain Trails Agency in organising the FIS Snowboard Junior World Championship.

The Championship was held for the first time in Georgia’s wonderful [ski resort] Gudauri. We received great support from both the Ski Federation and MTA, as well as from volunteers who worked hard”, Krogoll told the journalists.

He praised the environment at the tournament, pointing out the support from the public, adding “we had very fair conditions [at the Championship]”.

The FIS Championship 2024 in Gudauri concluded today with the Mixed Team race - French Lea Casta and Julien Tomas won the first place, while another duo from France Zoe Colombier and Aidan Chollet claiming the second place, and Slovakia’s Sara Pitonakova and Samuel Sakal finishing third.

Georgia’s Gudauri hosted the Snowboard Junior World Championship for the first time this year, with 90 athletes from 18 countries having competed in the tournament over the weekend.
