Peter Krogoll, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation Race Director, on Saturday thanked the organisers of the Snowboard Junior World Championship in Georgia for hosting the tournament in the country’s “wonderful” ski resort Gudauri.
In his comments to the media, Krogoll said he was sure that despite the difficult weather in Gudauri, the experienced team of organisers of the Championship would ensure fair conditions for the participants, as well as the holding of the “outstanding events”, within the scope of the tournament.
The Snowboard Junior World Championship officially opened in Gudauri on Friday, with 90 athletes from 18 countries competing in the tournament.
The competition, organised by Georgia's Mountain Trails Agency, features athletes under 21 from Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Bulgaria, Czechia, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine, the United States and Georgia.
