Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Tuesday congratulated Belgium on taking over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
In his social media post, Darchiashvili wished Belgian colleagues “the best of luck in this important mission” and said he was sure the country’s Presidency would “very much contribute to strengthening the European family and overcoming current challenges”.

The FM noted he looked forward to deepening cooperation between Georgia and Belgium “to further progress on the EU path”.
The Belgian Presidency began in January 2024 and will continue till June 30 of the year.
