Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Werner Hoyer, the President of the European Investment Bank on Saturday discussed the current projects of the Bank in Georgia and the prospects of deepening future cooperation.
At the meeting, held on the sidelines of the ongoing Munich Security Conference, the discussion also touched on EIB’s support of the private sector in Georgia, including the programmes for the development of medium and small businesses in the country, with €2.04 billion assigned for this purpose. The projects in the fields of digitisation and energy were also positively evaluated by the sides, the Government Administration said.
Garibashvili thanked the EIB President for the support provided by the Bank for the development and promotion of the strategic transport infrastructure of Georgia and said it was important for increasing the country's competitiveness and strengthening its transit capacity.
