Georgian national basketball team and Tenerife centre Giorgi Shermadini won his second Intercontinental Cup after his club defeated Sao Paulo in the final on Sunday.
Shermadini earned his second trophy in the competition with Tenerife’s 89-68 win, which also got the club their third Intercontinental Cup in five years.

The Georgian player spent 20 minutes on the court, scoring 12 points and six rebounds for his side.
The International Basketball Federation said the win marked another prize for the club, with two Basketball Champions League titles under their belt in addition to the third Intercontinental Cup.
“[T]hey could add even more silverware this season, playing the Spanish Copa del Rey next week”, the FIBA said.
