The legendary Georgian basketball player Zurab Sakandelidze will be inducted into the FIBA Basketball Hall of Fame, posthumously, for his successful career, the FIBA announced on Friday.
The Georgian point guard won the 1972 Munich Summer Olympics and the 1967 World Championship and was a four-time European champion.
The FIBA Hall of Fame Class of 2023 will honour Yao Ming, Wlamir Marques, Penny Taylor and many more at a ceremony in the Philippines capital city of Manila, ahead of the World Cup 2023 on August 23.

The Hall of Fame is a shrine dedicated to the amazing people who have built the foundations of the global sport of basketball since its birth, right up until its accomplished glory of the modern day.
Created in 2007, it has already seen the induction of over 122 outstanding players and coaches from 37 countries and all five continents to date.
