Andrea Rinaldi, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation Freestyle Moguls and Aerials Race Director, on Thursday said Georgia had carried out a significant work for hosting the fourth World Cup competition of the 2023-2024 season in the ski resort of Bakuriani.

Big investments have been made for the development of sports, tourism and business. The promotion of winter sports was greatly facilitated by the holding of the [2023 Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships] in Bakuriani. All this is important for the growth of awareness of Georgia”, he said. 

Bakuriani will host the tournament at the Kokhta Mount track between Friday and Saturday.

The Ministry of Economy of Georgia said 90 athletes from 16 countries would participate in the competition. 

During the 2024 winter season the stages of the World Cup will be hosted in the Georgian resort of Gudauri for snowboard cross between February 3-4, before the ski cross event is run in Bakuriani between February 10-11.
