Josep Borrell, the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs, on Monday highlighted the “good news” of Georgia advancing towards European Union membership.
In his remarks over the matter, Borrell noted the Georgian Government was doing “well” on the implementation of the conditions set out by the European Commission for granting the country the bloc’s membership candidate status.
Georgia is doing well. Until now all the analysis, the proposal from the European Commission have been positive and I encourage Georgia to continue in this path. The good news is that Georgia is advancing towards European Union membership”, he said.
Charles Michel, the European Council President, earlier this month highlighted the country’s commitment to EU integration remained “strong”.
