Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Sunday expressed his condolences to the family of Medea Amiranashvili, a recognised opera singer, who died at the age of 93.
“I am deeply saddened by the death of the People's Artist of Georgia, the legendary Georgian soprano Medea Amiranashvili”, Garibashvili said.
The PM stressed that Amiranashvili was an “incomparable” performer of Georgian and European opera music and a devoted “admirer” of Georgian music.
“That is how she earned the great love and respect of opera lovers and artists”, Garibashvili added.
Amiranashvili was the laureate of the Zakaria Paliashvili Prize, the Emeritus of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire and the recipient of the Order of King Tamar.
