The Georgian Defence Ministry and a visiting delegation of Italian Armed Forces General Staff discussed the current ties and prospects of future cooperation, signing a bilateral cooperation agreement for 2024.
The Georgian side briefed the visiting delegation on the ongoing reforms in the Ministry of Defence, while the sides discussed high-level visits between the countries, the Ministry said on Sunday.
The defence agencies of the two states have been “actively cooperating” within the framework of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package - a set of initiatives endorsed at the alliance’s 2014 Wales Summit, including international exercises, military education and aviation.
