Mikheil Khidureli, the CEO of Enterprise Georgia, the state agency promoting entrepreneurship, investment and exports, on Friday said three out of the world’s top five companies operating in business process outsourcing were present in Georgia.
“With the launch of Teleperformance in the country, we can confidently declare that three of the world's largest companies in the BPO industry are now established in Georgia. This underscores that the resilient business landscape here is a strong global player”, Khidureli said.
Khidureli said the company's entry into the country followed a year of negotiations, visits, and meetings in Georgia.
Ultimately, we managed to convince the company to make an investment in Georgia, citing the well-qualified workforce in the region as a key factor. Teleperformance currently has a global workforce exceeding 410,000 individuals, and we’re glad to contribute to that number, specifically in Georgia”, he said.
Investment consultants and managers from business process outsourcing companies visited the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi last month to join the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum and explore the country’s investment potential.
Agenda.ge asked the investors about their first impressions of the domestic investment environment, with the respondents praising “positive dynamics” in the industry, as well as the country’s investment potential.
They also said Georgia had established itself “on the radar” of “many prospective investors” in the sector.
