French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday hailed Georgian people, “whose commitment to democracy and Europe no longer needs to be proven”.
In his post on social media in Georgian language, Macron urged Georgians to “combine efforts to move forward”, stressing “France stands by your side”.
Earlier today the French President discussed the European Commission’s recommendation for Georgia to be granted the membership candidate status with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
Garibashvili is visiting France to participate in the Paris Peace Forum at the invitation of Macron.
