A report by the European Commission on the European Union’s enlargement policy, published last week, was discussed on Monday in an online meeting between the Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and the country’s ambassadors to the bloc’s member states.
The discussion followed the decision last week by the Commission to adopt the Package and recommend opening accession talks with Ukraine, Moldova and Bosnia and Herzegovina and granting the EU membership candidate status to Georgia.

Darchiashvili congratulated the ambassadors on this “important” decision for the country and noted the “special role” of the Ministry in this process.
The foreign office said the meeting focused on measures to follow the publication of the report, with action plans and tasks of both the Ministry and diplomatic missions defined for further work in the integration process.
