Georgian FM participates in EU enlargement working group meeting in Berlin

Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Thursday participated in a meeting of the European Union enlargement working group within the framework of a Berlin conference on the subject.

Foreign ministers of Latvia, Sweden, Austria, Montenegro, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo, as well as representatives of Moldova, Hungary and Albania attended the meeting, the Georgian foreign office said.

The top Georgian diplomat reviewed the process of the country’s integration into the European Union and the implementation of the recommendations for granting the country the membership candidate status later this year. 

Darchiashvili informed the participants in the meeting about the reforms carried out by the Georgian Government and the achieved results.

He also expressed his hope that the efforts of the Government would be reflected in a "relevant decision" on the candidate status from European partners.
