A Georgian parliamentary delegation led by Speaker Shalva Papuashvili will participate in the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union hosted in Luanda, the capital city of Angola, between Monday and Friday.
Within the framework of the visit, Papuashvili will deliver a speech at the Assembly session and will hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts, the Georgian legislative body said.
The Assembly will provide a platform for parliamentarians, partner organisations and experts to share good practice and commit to the overall theme of parliamentary “action for peace, justice and strong institutions”, the organisation said.
The IPU was formed in 1889 and now unites 179 members and 14 associate members for facilitating links between lawmaking bodies.
