Maia Omiadze, the Head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration, on Friday said the country would host representatives from over 100 international companies at m&i Forum, an event for the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions tourism industry next year.
Supported by m&i, a company running networking events in the industry, the Forum will be hosted following the organisation of Discover Georgia With m&i networking event in the country this year.
Georgian National Tourism Administration Head Maia Omiadze said the 2023 event had seen representatives of the Georgian sector establish “good contacts with international companies”, while the hosting of the event “at a high level” had led to the decision to bring the Forum to the country next year.
Omiadze added Georgia would host a “number of [other] large international events” in 2024 as well.
It should be noted that next year Georgia will host World Tourism Day. This event is held in different countries under the leadership of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation. It can be said that next year, Georgia will be the centre of business forums”, Omiadze said.
Georgia was chosen as the host country of the next year’s World Tourism Day event at the 68th meeting of the Commission for Europe of the UNWTO in Bulgaria in June. All 30 countries of the Commission voted for Georgia to be the host country of the event.
