About 60 buyers from Germany, France, the United Kingdom and other countries are visiting Georgia as part of Discover Georgia, a forum for the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions tourism, with the event supported by m&i, a company running networking events in the industry.
The Georgian National Tourism Administration on Friday said the event, running in the capital city of Tbilisi between Wednesday and Thursday, involved buyers discovering locations for hosting prospective future international conferences in the country.
Georgian Deputy Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili said the buyers would also meet representatives from the local private sector in networking opportunities for Georgian companies to be introduced to “leading companies from Europe and Great Britain for further business activities”.
We expect that a successfully held business forum will bring an income of more than $50 million to our country. We are sure that this event will promote to raising awareness of our country and further increase tourist flows from Great Britain and Europe”, Kvrivishvili said.

Heri Kashema, the Commercial Director of m&i, said the forum was bringing “the best client companies from Europe in the field of business tourism”.
We are glad that the companies have the opportunity to meet each other and see how high the hospitality industry is in Georgia [...] I hope very soon these companies will bring large groups and organise events in your country”, Kashema said.
GNTA Head Maia Omiadze told Agenda.ge the body’s Convention and Exhibition Bureau had been involved in the bidding to “get this event off the ground”, adding a successful hosting of the event would “bring 500 buyers next year” to Georgia.
