FM: Chancellor visit discussing Georgia, Austria ties “very important”

Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Monday said the visit of the Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer to the country would focus on “very important” discussions on how to strengthen and deepen the existing relations between the two countries.

Darchiashvili noted Nehammer’s visit, which started on Monday, proved the existence of “very high, dynamic” bilateral relations between the states.

 

“In 2022, the Georgian Prime Minister visited Austria, and today we already have the opportunity to welcome the Federal Chancellor to Georgia”, the FM said.

Within the framework of this visit, there will be very important discussions on how to strengthen and deepen the existing relations between the two countries”, the top Georgian diplomat added.

Darchiashvili said the visit would introduce a “very important impetus to these relations”, pointing to “in-depth discussions” to be held on Georgian authorities’ work on the road to the country’s European integration.

The Minister said the Government would “share with the Chancellor the specific steps that have been taking” in the process.
