Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer on Friday said that his country was “clearly committed” to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, and pointed out the “frozen conflicts” in the Russian-occupied regions of Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) and Abkhazia must “not be forgotten”.
In a tweet following his meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili Nehammer noted their discussion had focused on bilateral cooperation and possibilities for furthering Georgia’s ties with the European Union.
"Another topic was the Russian war against Ukraine, which we both condemn. The frozen conflicts in South Ossetia and Abkhazia must not be forgotten either. Austria is clearly committed to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia”, the Chancellor tweeted.

At a joint press conference Nehammer stressed it was “very important” to support Georgia on its Western integration, both in what the country had already accomplished and in measures still ahead for the process.
