Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday highlighted the inauguration of the Georgian Embassy in Croatia’s capital city of Zagreb during his visit to the country.
In his remarks, Garibashvili, who is on his first official visit to Croatia, noted the launch demonstrated not only the “growing dynamics” of bilateral relations, but also indicated Georgia's “involvement and engagement” in Southeast Europe.
“[T]oday is a special day, because the Georgian Embassy in Zagreb is officially inaugurated”, he said in comments.
We value relations with Croatia very much. It is a model state for Georgia in the Southeast European region. During its 30-year period of independence, Croatia fulfilled the main orientations of foreign relations when it became a full-fledged member of the European and Euro-Atlantic families”, the visiting PM added.
The Government head also noted the two countries were celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and said the date made this visit “even more important”.
Ambassador Zaza Gogsadze on Sunday said Garibashvili’s ongoing visit to Croatia was “of a special importance”, as Zagreb was an “active supporter” of Georgia’s path to European Union integration.
