Tbilisi City Court on Saturday sent one individual to imprisonment for assault on one of the Formula TV founders Misha Mshvildadze in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi on Tuesday.
The Court accepted the prosecution’s request to keep the alleged offender in custody, with the next hearing for the case scheduled for August 22.
The defence asked the judge for bail or release of the defendant until the upcoming hearing.
Police officers on Wednesday arrested the offender, after earlier that day he said he was responsible for assaulting the TV founder in his social media post, telling his followers he had physically attacked Mshvildadze for “insulting the Catholicos Patriarch of the Georgian Orthodox Church and the Church, as well as Georgian nation”.
