Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Thursday said he “greatly” appreciated the efforts of “his friend”, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili for holding a meeting between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Tbilisi in July.
In his address at a panel discussion Eurasia's Middle Corridor: From Pathway to Highway at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Aliyev said he proposed to hold a meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian officials in Georgia, where the leaders used to “historically” meet, but Armenia was not “ready for this”.
If all three countries of the South Caucasus “unite their efforts” in terms of energy, transport, security, stability, and border delimitation, the region will be much safer, the President emphasised.
