Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Thursday said Georgia was “truly” a “neutral and impartial mediator” between Azerbaijan and Armenia, at a panel discussion Eurasia's Middle Corridor: From Pathway to Highway within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
During the Cold War there was a phrase - Trust, but verify; this trust is relevant but a new expression has been added - Don’t trust, but cooperate”, the Head of the Government noted.
The Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s initiative to hold a trilateral meeting is in Georgia’s interests, as the South Caucasus region belongs to these three countries [Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan] and they can transform it into the region of “opportunities for peace and prosperity”, Garibashvili stressed.
