Georgia’s Black Sea city of Batumi will host the Under-18 Chess World Championships this month, the Government of the country’s autonomous Adjara region announced on Friday.
The event will feature 457 competitions aged between 8-18 from 38 countries competing for prizes in the west of the country. The meeting chaired by Rizhvadze has discussed security and preparations for the event with regional authorities. Photo: Adjara Government press office.
Tornike Rizhvadze, the head of the Adjara Government, on Friday hosted a meeting with local agencies to discuss preparations for the Championships.
The event will run between June 5-12.
