Georgian PM discusses economic ties at meeting with Saudi investments, economy ministers

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Wednesday discussed economic relations between Georgia and Saudi Arabia at his meetings with the Minister of Investments Khalid Al-Falih and the Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Fadil Al-Ibrahim.

The Georgian Government Administration said the sides agreed to hold a business forum this year in the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi. 

A special commission will also be created involving officials from the Saudi ministries of energy, economy and investment to study investment opportunities of Georgia in “various directions”.

The ministers also said Georgia was one of the “attractive investment destinations” for Saudi Arabia due to its “recent economic progress”, with the meeting also noting the country’s “very important geostrategic location”.
