A delegation of the Defence and Security Committee of the Georgian Parliament is visiting the Turkish capital of Ankara to hold meetings with counterparts from the country’s legislative body in a bid to forge closer ties between the two bodies.
The Georgian Parliament said on Wednesday the visiting group, headed by Chair Irakli Beraia, was scheduled to meet the Head of the Turkish Parliamentary Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and members of the Turkey-Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Group.

They will also hold meetings with chairs and members of committees for National Defence, Security and Intelligence, and Internal Affairs of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
Georgian MPs will also visit the Turkish Aerospace Industries and Havelsan, a leading defence technology company based in the country.
The visiting group of legislators involves MPs Alexander Tabatadze and Vladimer Chachibaia from the ruling team and opposition lawmakers Aleksandre Elisashvili and Herman Szabo.
