Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau on Wednesday arrived in Georgia on an official visit and was welcomed by the Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Teimuraz Janjalia at the Tbilisi International Airport, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
Janjalia said the strategic directions, including Georgia’s European Union and NATO integrations, would be discussed during the meetings with Rau, adding the Polish official would be informed on the “difficult situation” in Georgia's Russian-occupied regions.
We hope that another important partner country [Poland] will continue to support both Georgia’s foreign policy direction and the country’s territorial integrity", Janjalia noted, highlighting the importance of the Polish FM’s visit and his country’s support for Georgia.
During his visit between Wednesday and Friday, the Polish FM will meet his Georgian counterpart Ilia Darchiashvili. He will also have meetings with Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and President Salome Zourabichvili.
Rau will also lay a wreath at the Tbilisi memorial for those fallen for Georgia’s independence.
