Georgia’s national ice hockey team defeated Iceland with a score of 4:1 in the opening match of the World Championship 2023, running between April 16-22 at the Pista de Hielo rink in Madrid, the Georgian Ice Hockey Federation said on Sunday.
With one goal and two assists by Nikita Bukiya, along with one goal and one assist contributed by Artem Kurbatov, the Georgian team dominated the game.

Ivan Marov and Danila Slesarev also contributed to the game by scoring goals.
The national squad began its training preparations with two victories against the Latvian club HK Tukums in two matches played on Monday and Wednesday.

Their next match of the Championship will come against Israel on Monday, with the final fixture scheduled against Australia.
