Only a single public school remains on remote learning mode as confirmed Covid-19 rates have "significantly decreased", the Georgian Education Ministry said on Saturday.
The Ministry noted the case positivity rates stood at 0.1 percent among students and 0.3 percent among teachers.
"As of now, 73.7 percent of teachers and school administration representatives have been vaccinated,” the Ministry added.
Georgian health authorities reported 658 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The daily positivity rate throughout the country stands at 2.88 percent.
The Ministry of Education of Georgia has announced today that schools and kindergartens will resume on January 17. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the ministry will allow hybrid classes in the new semester.
A total of 201 schools throughout Georgia have switched to remote learning due to Covid-19 surge in the country, the Georgian Ministry of Education and Science reported. The ministry noted that safety measures were taken in order to prevent the internal transmission of the virus.
The Georgian Ministry of Education has reported that all public and private schools in Georgia are ready to resume in-person studies on January 17.
“In-person studies should become mandatory in schools despite the coronavirus pandemic, as the hybrid teaching model is ineffective”, said the Georgian Association of School Administrations (GASA).
Georgia has reported 229 new Covid-19 cases, 2,993 recoveries, and 12 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the last 14 days stands at 4.39 percent. Overall 8,403 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.
The Georgian National Center For Educational Quality Enhancement will host the annual International Forum of the members of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education in 2023, the Ministry of Education has announced.
