Georgia’s wine export growth rate reached more than 40 percent in January-February 2022, the Georgian Agriculture Minister Otar Shamugia said on Monday, adding the figure reflected the “purposeful policy” of the Georgian Government.
Shamugia noted exports of agricultural products were increasing as well, pointing out the state’s support for market diversification, and saying the list of countries where Georgian products are exported was also increasing.
He also said a “significant increase” was registered in 2021 in exports of agricultural products, amounting to more than $200 million.
In January-February 2022, export of wine of fresh grapes totalled $33.2 million, marking a 43.9 percent growth compared to the same period of last year.
