Georgian external trade turnover amounted to $2.5 billion in January-February 2022, an increase of 49.2 percent year-on-year, latest data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) shows.
The value of exports in Georgia grew by 54.5 percent and totalled $760.4 million in the reporting period, while imports also increased by 47 percent, reaching $1.7 billion.

Trade deficit, a measure of the negative balance of trade in which imports exceed exports, totalled $1 billion, and the share in trade turnover added up to 40.1 percent.
In January 2022, the country’s external trade turnover equalled $1.1 billion, marking an increase of 41.1 percent year-on-year, while in 2021, Georgia’s exports amounted to $4.24 billion, while imports reached $10 billion. The total turnover was $14.31 billion, while the trade deficit was observed at $5.83 billion.
