Coronavirus: Georgia reports 2,783 new cases, 32 deaths

Georgia has reported 2,783 new Covid-19 cases, 5,450 recoveries, and 32 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days stands at 19.45 percent.

Overall 44,545 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 17,693 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 14,798 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 2,895 were PCR tests. 

1,629,065 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 1,568,064 of 1,629,065 patients have recovered, while 16,430 have died from the virus.

The new Omicron variant of coronavirus accounts for the majority of confirmed Covid-19 cases.

The 2,783 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 1,171 cases 
  • Adjara - 97 cases 
  • Imereti - 418 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 105 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 182 cases 
  • Guria - 167 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 218 cases 
  • Kakheti - 228 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 78 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 54 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 65 cases

42,336 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,352,226 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,249,476 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 43.5 percent of the country’s adult population and 225,981 have received booster shots of the vaccine.
