Georgia reports 1,700 new cases of coronavirus, weekly positivity rate stands at 17.49%

Georgia has reported 1,700 new cases of coronavirus, 7,002 recoveries and 28 deaths in the last 24 hours. The weekly positivity rate stands at 17.49 percent.

A total of 54,447 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.

Overall, 9,572 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 6,738 of them were rapid antigen tests, while the remaining 2,834 were PCR tests. 

Georgia has had a total of 1,625,372 Covid-19 cases since February 26, 2020. 

1,554,533 of the 1,625,372 infected individuals have recovered, while 16,366 have died from the virus.

The new 1,700 cases were recorded in: 

  • Tbilisi - 893 cases 
  • Adjara - 61 cases 
  • Imereti - 204 cases
  • Kvemo Kartli - 74 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 85 cases 
  • Guria - 105 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 90 cases 
  • Kakheti - 129 cases
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 26 cases
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 25 cases
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 8 cases

51,998 individuals are undergoing treatment at home, while 2,459 patients are in hospitals.

1,351,828 individuals in Georgia have received at least one dose of Covid-19 the vaccine so far, while 1,248,790 have been fully vaccinated, which makes up 43.5 percent of the country's adult population.
