Coronavirus: Georgia reports 1,365 new cases, 32 deaths

Georgia has reported 1,365 new Covid-19 cases, 9,790 recoveries, and 32 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days stands at 22.6 percent.

Overall 64,894 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 9,671 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 6,495 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 3,176 were PCR tests. 

1,620,639 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 1,539,413 of 1,620,639 patients have recovered, while 16,306 have died from the virus.

The new Omicron variant of coronavirus accounts for the majority of confirmed Covid-19 cases.

The 1,365 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 702 cases 
  • Adjara - 63 cases 
  • Imereti - 193 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 63 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 72 cases 
  • Guria - 62 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 63 cases 
  • Kakheti - 95 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 14 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 17 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 21 cases

A total of 2,913 are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 708 patients are in critical condition out of which 245 are on artificial ventilation.

61,981 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,351,372 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,274,996 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 43 percent of the country’s adult population and 224,278 have received booster shots of the vaccine.
